Since it was founded in 2005, Blade Club has firmly established itself in the local fencing scene through the various achievements and sterling results of its fencers. The first half of 2011 has been no different, with seasoned fencers Lim Wei Wen and Ann Lee leading the charge in clinching the Gold in the Individual Men’s Epee and Women’s Sabre events respectively at the season-opening Fencing Singapore Challenge in January. This was soon followed by a strong showing by our new fencers at the Novices Championships, with Shawn Wallace and Felicia Yeo emerging champions in the Individual categories for Women’s Epee and Women’s Sabre respectively.
The results of our young fencers were also a great cause for excitement with Shawn Wallace winning Bronze in the Individual Girl’s Epee and Charlotte Teo taking Silver in the Individual Girl’s Sabre at the Under-17 Cadet World Cup. Our very own Lau Ywen and Lau Ysien also performed impressively at the recently concluded Selangor Open. Ywen took the Gold in the Individual U-12 Girl’s Foil event while Ysien punched above her weight by taking Bronze in the Senior category for the Individual Women’s Foil event.
This impressive run of results for the year so far was made possible by the dedication and talent of our members, as well as the personal touch and attention provided by our coaches and administrative staff. Blade Club offers a wide selection of classes and programs which are tailored to suit your needs. Regardless of whether you are young or old, experienced or new, we welcome you into the Blade Club fraternity. |
