Silver Medalist at South East Asian Games, National Champion, Current Top Men's Epeeist in Singapore. Wei Wen started to learn fencing at the age of 19 at the ITE Balestier Fencing Club when he started his education there in July 2004. Within a short span of 6 months, he won 1st (Individual Men’s Epee) in Novices, followed quickly by another 1st in the Singapore Junior Fencing Championships 2005. Since then, he has been with the Singapore National Team and has represented Singapore in numerous overseas competitions. He recently won 2nd place (for individual Men's Epee) and 3rd place (for team Men's Epee) in the South East Asia Games 2007 and again was 2nd (individual Men's Epee) in the SEAFF 2008.He is a NCAP 1 certified coach, has First Aid certification, and is also a registered coach under the SSC/MOE Sports Education Programme (SEP). |
